Robert F. Parker’s recent jury verdict was featured in DRI’s Newsletter, The Voice, under the “And The Defense Wins” section in their 25th issue of volume 13 released on June 25, 2014. Parker has been included in multiple issues of DRI’s newsletter including issues in 2013 and 2012.
“DRI member Robert F. Parker, a partner with Burke Costanza & Carberry LLP in Merrillville, Indiana, successfully defended a medical malpractice claim against an ophthalmologist in Elkhart County, Indiana. The claim concerned an allegation of failure to diagnose and treat acute retinal necrosis in a timely manner; this extremely rare and devastating eye disease cost the young woman plaintiff the sight in one eye. The week-long trial ended in a unanimous verdict absolving the defendant of any wrongdoing.”
