What We're Doing

BCC Supports Recycling Initiative!

Burke Costanza & Carberry LLP

For the past two years, BCC has participated in the Lake County Solid Waste Management Districts’ Cap-A-Thon program.  BCC attorneys and staff members have collected, sorted, weighed and stored plastic caps from many different products, including: plastic drink bottle caps, lids from food containers like coffee cans, peanut butter jars, butter tubs, tops from spray cans, caps from liquid laundry detergent and other designated items.

On April 26, 2016, BCC transported 415 pounds of plastic caps to the Town of Merrillville.  The caps, instead of ending up in landfills, will be shipped to Green Tree Plastics in Evansville, Indiana and will be recycled and transformed into a plastic bench made from 100% recycled plastic.

BCC is proud of its recycling and positive impact on the environment.
