Dan Gioia will serve as the panel moderator and will also participate as faculty at the Indiana State Bar Seminar on August 21st at the Lake County Bar Association office in Merrillville. The Lake County Bar Association is co-sponsoring this event with the I.S.B.A. Section for Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation. Gioia is currently serving on the Executive Council for the A.D.R. Section of the State Bar.

This seminar is entitled “How to Increase the Odds for a Successful Mediation” and attorneys who attend will receive two credit hours of C.L.E. towards their annual education requirements, as well as two credit hours of C.M.E. or Continuing Advanced Mediation Training & Education. The seminar is one of the A.D.R. Section’s signature Lunch-Box Series, where lawyers not only receive educational credits; but they also can actively participate while enjoying a regular weekday lunch with fellow practitioners and Judges from Northwest Indiana.

Moderator Gioia, who regularly serves as a family law mediator, as well as a mediator in all types of civil law cases, will conduct the Panel discussion, along with two other civil law mediators, and two additional family law mediators from Lake and Porter Counties.

Gioia is from Valparaiso. Family law mediators will include J. Douglas Angel from Munster; and Cheryl A. Williamson, who is from Portage. John E. Hughes from Merrillville and Valparaiso; and David L. Abel II will both contribute as experienced Civil Law Mediators.
